Manufacturing at our Factory

Balmoral Knitwear is a UK knitwear manufacturer with a weekly capacity of over 2,000 pullovers, cardigans, scarves and hats in our own factory in Ayrshire. We also use European partner factories for additional styles and larger contracts.

From our Ayrshire factory:

  • Capacity per month: 8,000+ garments
  • 7 and 10 gauge fabric
  • Cut and sewn and fashioning from our high-tech programmable Shima Seiki knitting machines
  • Minimum manufacturing quantity for standard styles: 24+
  • Usual lead-time: 4-5 weeks
  • Embroidery – production from 50 embroidery heads
  • Heat Press logo facilities

From our partner factories in Europe:

  • Capacity per month: 8,000 – 10,000 garments
  • 5, 7, 12 and 21 gauge fabric
  • Cut and sewn and fully fashioned
  • Minimum manufacturing quantity for standard styles: 250+
  • Usual lead-time: 8-12 weeks
  • Large embroidery capacity

Recent/Current Projects

  • Company re-brand to better reflect our Company essence and ethics including the development and launch of new corporate Logo
  • Developing a range of heavy Gents and Ladies countrywear sweaters made from British Wool.
  • Working with Heritage Scotland to return our historical Mill Shop building back to its former glory.
