How to Look After Garments

  • Balmoral Knitwear is known for producing high quality knitwear, which will last and look good over a long period. But any knitwear needs looking after. For most of our garments, the following instructions apply:
  • Machine washable at 40°C, wash inside out.
  • Short spin – do not wring.
  • Do not dry on a direct heat source like a radiator etc.
  • Consult care label before tumble drying.
  • Avoid abrasion and static which can cause pilling.
  • We recommend wool washing powders, DO NOT use biological powder.
  • DO NOT use fabric conditioner.
  • DO NOT iron. When dried at this garment will not require ironing. Doing so can cause glazing.
  • Fuzzing, pilling or bobbling will occur to a greater or lesser extent on any knitted garment, and
  • its appearance does not necessarily mean that there is a fault. It can be caused by loose bres
  • when the garment is new, and these should disappear over time. It can be caused by excessive
  • rubbing, eg from the strap of a bag or rucksack, and it can be caused by fabric conditioner or
  • excess heat.

So please look after your Balmoral Knitwear sweater or cardigan, and it will look after you!
This was a recent message through the website here:
